Lumenyn Fit privacy policy
Lumenyn Fit ("the app") is a habit game that runs on your phone. This policy explains what happens to the information you put into it. The short version: we don't collect any of it. Version 2 adds two optional online features, food search and barcode lookup, which send only the words or barcode number you look up to Open Food Facts. Details below.
What the app stores, and where
When you use Lumenyn Fit you can enter answers to an anonymous questionnaire (for example age range, gender, eating, drinking, smoking, drug use, spending, exercise, screen time and goals), choose how your character looks, give it a name, and log things like water, meals, drink-free days and spending.
Version 2.2 adds optional health questions (whether a doctor, nurse or pharmacist has told you that you have high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol or a heart condition; whether you are pregnant or trying; whether you know your blood pressure), an optional height and weight, and a blood-pressure diary where you can note your own readings. Every one of these has a "prefer not to say" or skip option. They only change which advice and recipes you see first; they never change your character's numbers.
All of this is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. We do not ask for your real name, email address, phone number or location, and you don't need an account.
What we collect
Nothing. Lumenyn Fit:
- has no Lumenyn Fit servers, accounts, analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software;
- does not use device identifiers or advertising IDs;
- does not access your contacts, photos, location, microphone, bank accounts, or health data from other apps or services (such as Health Connect). The only health information it holds is what you type into it, and that stays on your phone.
What leaves your phone, and only when you ask
Lumenyn Fit has internet access for exactly three things (plus Google Play purchases, below):
- "Search online" for a food or drink. Only when you tap it, the words you typed (for example "oat latte") are sent to Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org), a free, open food database run by a non-profit. Nothing else is attached: no account, no ID, no cookies, no location. The app uses a fixed, generic app name (with no details about you) for every phone.
- Scanning a barcode. The camera is used on your phone to read the barcode; no picture is ever sent or stored. If the product isn't already in the app's built-in food list, only the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts to look it up.
- Advice updates. If enabled in a future version, the app downloads the same advice file as everyone else, with nothing about you attached.
Like any website, Open Food Facts receives your phone's IP address when it answers a request; their own privacy policy applies to that. Everything you log stays on your device either way.
Purchases (Supporter and tips)
Lumenyn Fit is free. You can choose to buy an optional Supporter subscription, Supporter for life, or a one-off tip. Payments are made through Google Play, under Google's terms and privacy policy; Lumenyn Fit never sees your card or payment details. Google Play tells the app which product you bought, and the app keeps only that product name on your phone so it can show your supporter perks (a badge and shirt colours for your character). Supporting never changes your character's health, money or life expectancy.
Camera
Used only for barcode scanning, only after you allow it, and only while the scanner is open. Frames are processed on the device and immediately discarded.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Lumenyn Fit schedules reminders on your phone (for example "Dave is thirsty"). These are created on the device and are not sent through any server.
Links to other websites
Advice cards link to their sources (such as nhs.uk or moneysavingexpert.com). If you tap a link, it opens in your browser and that website's own privacy policy applies. Lumenyn Fit does not pass any of your information to these sites.
Links and adverts
Some advice cards and recipe shopping lists may in future contain links marked "Ad · helps fund Lumenyn Fit". If you buy through one, the company may pay Lumenyn Fit a commission. The app never tracks your clicks; any tracking starts on the partner's website under their policy. Links marked "Free" earn Lumenyn Fit nothing. Debt-help links are always free services. Version 2.2 ships with Free links only. We will never use paid links for less-healthy food or drink, or for credit or debt products.
Food data credits
Contains data from Open Food Facts, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (UK CoFID).
Deleting your data
Use Settings → Delete everything in the app (this includes your health answers and blood-pressure diary), or uninstall it. Either removes all of your data from the device. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Android's own device backup may include app data if you have enabled it on your phone; this is controlled by your Google account settings, not by us.
Not medical advice
Lumenyn Fit is a wellness game. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Life-expectancy figures are game estimates based on population averages. Always talk to your GP, pharmacist or another healthcare professional about your health.
Children
Lumenyn Fit is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It asks users to confirm they are 18 or over before use.
Your rights (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)
